Privacy Policy: Umpire

Effective date: August 9, 2026

Umpire (Cricket Umpire Counter) does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything the app tracks stays on your device.

What the app does

Umpire is an offline utility that counts legal deliveries, overs, wickets, and extras during a cricket innings. It has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, and no network access of any kind the app does not request the Android INTERNET permission and cannot send data anywhere even if it wanted to.

Data we collect

None. Specifically, the app does not collect:

  • Personal information (name, email, contacts, etc.)
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers used for tracking or advertising
  • Usage analytics or crash telemetry
  • Any data sent to us or to any third party

Data stored on your device

The current innings (over count, wicket count, extras, and undo history) is saved locally on your device using Android's DataStore, purely so the app can restore your progress after it's closed or the device restarts. This data never leaves your device, is not accessible to us or any third party, and is deleted when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.

Biometric / screen lock feature

Umpire optionally lets you pin the counter screen and unlock it with your fingerprint or device screen lock, to prevent accidental taps mid-match. This uses Android's built-in BiometricPrompt system API: authentication happens entirely within the operating system. The app never receives, sees, or stores your fingerprint, face data, or device credentials it only receives a yes/no result from Android indicating whether you unlocked successfully.

Third-party services

Umpire does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising networks.

Children's privacy

Because the app collects no data from anyone, it does not knowingly collect data from children either.
